On the occasion of the unconstitutional celebration of January 9 by the institutions of the smaller Bosnia and Herzegovina entity RS, the Council of the Congress of Bosniak Intellectuals (VKBI) organized a Public Forum "January 9 - Legal and Historical Truths" today in Sarajevo.
On this occasion, emeritus prof. Ph.D. Kasim Trnka and Ph.D. Muamer Džananović.
- The idea of creating the Serbian Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina, i.e. the Republic of Serbia, is a continuation of the centuries-old Great Serbian nationalist territorial expansionist ideology, policy and practice which, among other things, led to the killing, expulsion, and destruction of traces of the existence of hundreds of thousands of Bosniaks (Muslims) in earlier historical periods.
Protagonists of such an ideology used every historical opportunity to divide Bosnia and Herzegovina territorially and occupy it militarily, and to reduce the Bosniak people to a demographically acceptable number - said, among other things, Assoc. Ph.D. Muamer Džananović, senior research associate at the Institute for Research on Crimes Against Humanity and International Law, University of Sarajevo.
As he emphasized, the disintegration of SFRY and the reaffirmation of the Greater Serbian nationalist project seemed like a unique opportunity to use the same means to create "the first Serbian state west of the Drina river". He added that this project required several years of preparation within the Yugoslav (socialist) system and parallel action after the introduction of the multi-party system in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
- In order to survive, the Great Serbian nationalist policy had to - at any cost - destroy the "idea of Bosnia", its multi-ethnic and multi-confessional society, while giving everything conquered a national connotation. Regardless of the fact that the top of the SDS in 1990-1992. for the realization of his ideas in 1992-1995. sentenced before the International Criminal Tribunal in The Hague to long-term or life imprisonment and genocide against Bosniaks, the political leaders of the RS, an entity in Bosnia Herzegovina, and today, more than three decades after its illegal illegitimate declaration, base and nurture their existence on everything that civilized and the democratic world condemns - pointed out Džananović.
He stated that the separatist ideas and strategic goals of the SDS leaders at the time could not have been realized in any other way than through crimes against humanity and international law and genocide.
- Even today, separatist ideas and "strategic goals" are not abandoned. Ignoring the decisions and positions of the high representative in Bosnia and Herzegovina, ignoring the decisions of the Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina and unconstitutional actions, violating and denying the sovereignty of Bosnia and Herzegovina, celebrating, glorifying war criminals, denying genocide and celebrating "January 9, 1992." are just some of the activities that are organized, carried out and supported by the political structures in the RS, with the strong and crucial important role of the official Belgrade, SANU and the Serbian Orthodox Church - said Džananović.
Trnka reminded that we have not witnessed more serious reactions of the authorities at the level of the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina, nor of political subjects at the level of the FBiH entity.
- That is why VKBI decided to remind the public at this forum of the events that took place in the early 90s, in which there was an evident violation of the then valid constitution of Bosnia and Herzegovina and a series of activities undertaken by paramilitary and parapolitical structures, in principle excluding members of all other nations, except the Serbian nation. In this, they showed a certain self-centeredness and unwillingness to live in a multicultural state. That is why, with the help of neighboring countries, they did everything to weaken Bosnia and Herzegovina - he concluded.

- We warn and inform the public of Bosnia and Herzegovina that by marking January 9 as an unconstitutional day of the RS, the constitutional and legal order of Bosnia and Herzegovina has collapsed, in a very serious and planned way, that the institutions of BiH are not responding adequately, and that BiH is in an extraordinary legal situation condition. Urgent mobilization at the institutional level in BiH and strong support of the witnesses of the Dayton Agreement is necessary - said Zlatar.
VKBI says that the intention of today's event was to familiarize the public with the relevant legal and historical truths about January 9.
